So, earlier today, I was tinkering around on the internet (when I was supposed to be writing my paper for class this afternoon) and decided to take a gander at my myspace page–I check it rarely and decided that was more important than writing my paper at the time being. Anyways, I logged in and after my eyes adapted to all of the clutter MySpace has recently added and keeps adding to the home page (another reason why Facebook still dominates MySpace) I saw this interesting caption right above my profile picture:
ATTENTION: There is an AMBER Alert in your area.
Please CLICK HERE to find out more information
And when I clicked on it, there was a whole profile on the girl that was missing, and details about what she was wearing and when she was last seen etc. AND there was the suspect’s picture and his physical profile. I was impressed. This is a great example of how social media is growing and how effective it is… I still haven’t heard about this Amber Alert on the news, radio, or electronic road signs, but I know about it because I logged into my MySpace account.. Props to MySpace and social media in general.. Social media, once again, has proved itself as a communication tool..
